Iraq Reality Check

Is it really any surprise..... "Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight."

A 30-page National Intelligence Estimate completed in April concludes that, "rather than contributing to eventual victory in the global counterterrorism struggle, the situation in Iraq has worsened the U.S. position." (WaPo)

And since April.....a sickening and unabated rate of U.S. troop casualties in Iraq, and violent death tolls as reported by the Baghdad morgue.... 1595 in June, 1855 in July and 1535 in August.

ABC's From the Frontline reports that the new Bush administration strategy Operation Together Forward was supposed to establish pockets of security in select Baghdad neighborhoods. In reality, it creates a "whack-a-mole" effect, secure one area and another pops up.

There is no forward progress, we're not winning hearts and minds, instead, the Iraq war is creating more and more deadly enemies who believe ".... the Iraq war is a Western attempt to conquer Islam."

While Bush struts his electioneering "America is safer" drivel, his Iraq strategy has a "really big hole.... we focus on the terrorists and very little on how they are created."

That is because an arrogant and philosophically-limited Bush and his neocon minions have a rigid ideology, fixed ideas unresponsive to reality.

The reality is that our war in Iraq is creating a tsunami of terrorists.

In November we can give the Bush legislative enablers a reality check.

Vote!
