Bush's Ruse Conference

In his news conference today, The Decider was in full Grimm trim.

He spun fairy tales on how our invasion of Iraq has made the world a safer place, and how his hand-picked Generals are calling the shots there (if they're not his shots, he replaces the Generals); and, on how the Iraq war funding legislation without deadlines for Iraq to take more of the burden, and our troops less, was a good thing (even though he admitted it will be a bloodbath this summer)....

On how he is going to work with Russia....where Putin is turning away from democracy toward despotism.... and China, who recently refused to devalue their currency, fueling our elephant-sized trade deficit.... to ratchet up the pressure on Iran....

On how the new comprehensive immigration legislation (amnesty) would strengthen border security (even though only two miles of fence out of the mandated 700 miles have been completed on the measure passed last year)....

And, on how the investigation of the politicization of the Justice Department under Attorney General Gonzales is just "grand political theater."

A reality check is in order.

The invasion of Iraq made the world a much more dangerous place, Russia and China support oil-rich Iran, Gonzales bends the law to the administration's will, and the new immigration legislation is just another gigantic step toward implementing the North American Union scheme, to the ruin of our nation.

Lest we forget this Memorial Day weekend.... words have consequences.

Consequences for which the increasingly burdened taxpayers must bear the cost, and, for which our brave troops are spilling their blood as we become more and more a nation of authoritarian rule, and less and less one governed by the rule of law.

Lest we forget....
