End Condi's Wanderings

Condi continues her diplomatic wanderings in an ever hostile international wilderness, cluelessly lugging the foreign policy "axis of evil" tablets chiseled out by The Decider's over-the-hill advisers and clever speech writers .

After a fruitless trip to the Middle East where she snubbed Syria's request for talks with Israel, thus ignoring an opening for isolating Iran, Condi will next wander off to China, Japan and South Korea still dragging the refusal to talk one-on-one with North Korea as a way of solving the escalating crisis in that region.

"Bush's 'Axis of Evil' Comes Back to Haunt United States," says it all. Nearly 5 years after hurling the "axis of evil" label at Iraq, Iran and North Korea in his 2002 State of the Union address, the "administration has reached a crisis point with each nation." (WaPo)

North Korea has detonated its first nuclear device and threatens to test a nuclear missile.... Iran refuses to halt its uranium-enrichment program.... and Iraq lies in ruins, teetering on the edge of civil war 3 1/2 years after the U.S.-led invasion. The rubble of Bush's foreign adventures.

It's time bring an end Condi's futile journeys. Time to forge a new foreign policy direction. Time to step back from the brink.

It is more than clear that the current foreign policy in the US has failed. I remember in 2002 when the winter Olympics were held in Utah, and some of the Americans in the stands had the poor taste and sportsmanship to boo the Iranians and the North Koreans (I do not think Iraq participated). Now, that has come back for a proverbial ass-biting.

Always the eloquent commentator! You are right with this one. I cannot think of a worse group of people to represent the U.S. on the face of this globe. Disguise, distort and distroy; this is how I will always remember this current administration. And it makes me feel so sad about our country's future. I think I need another dose of Bill Clinton unplugged! That was the best. Thanks again for your honest take on current events. I always appreciate your thoughts.
