Delay: Good News, Bad News

The Washington Post today confirmed that ethics-impaired Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX), former GOP agenda "Hammer"-ing majority whip, will not run for reelection this November......don't celebrate yet.

He is thinking about moving to the Virginia-D.C. area to keep hammering us. It is reported that high on his agenda will be the furthering of religious influence in government. Note to DeLay: "Heal thyself!"

Some pure (so far) good news is the pending announcement by Rep. Katherine "Hanging Chad" Harris (R-FL) that she will not be running for Senate this fall. The GOP has abandoned her (bad reminder of 2000 election), three of her campaign managers resigned over the weekend.......her pledged personal $10 million fortune propping up her campaign war chest isn't enought to buy her a win. What did she expect.....more respect than she gave the voters of Florida?

By the way, on the subject of national polling data and illegal immigration (see "Polls and Lemmings" below), Tony Blankley reported in The Washington Times that the Gallup Poll (March 27) finds 80 percent of the public wants the federal government to get tougher on illegal immigration. Just so you know.
